Today I am sharing a recipe for Naan, we usually have this in Restaurants, never thought that I will make Naan at Home :) but I did it now. The preparation is very easy but you should be clear with the exact proportions to get a nice fluffy Naan. There is more than one way of preparing Naan, Ingredients can also differ. Here in my recipe I used Yeast and Curd to prepare Naan , Yeast can be replaced with Baking powder and Curd can be replaced with Egg.
Ingredients:
Method:
1) Take 6 to 8 tablespoons of luke warm water in a bowl, add 1 tblsp of sugar to it then add 1 tblsp of Yeast, mix well and Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
2) After 10 minutes, add melted ghee or oil and 1/2 cup of curd to the yeast, sugar mixture.
3) Add this mixture to a bowl of maida or all purpose flour, Mix without any lumps, add the remaining curd and knead the dough. If needed add some water to make a soft dough. Keep it aside for minimum 2 hours.
4) You can see the dough has raised and still more soft now.
5) Make equal sized balls, mean time place the cooker upside down on the stove and let it heat for few minutes.
6) Now press the balls to your desired shape , and place it on the hot cooker. Check for the brown spots in one side of the naan and turn it back to cook the other side.
7) For butter naan , melt some butter and spread it on the naan using spoon or brush.
8) Serve it hot with any gravy. You can see the naan remains soft if it becomes cool also.
