So this time prepared with same proportions as before and the outcome is also same as before and this time took pictures to share with you guys. This dish goes well with coconut chutney and kaara chutney. I prepared only kaara chutney this time. You can prepare this Rava dosa as breakfast/evening snack/dinner.
Here comes the recipe,
Sooji/White Rava | 1/2 cup |
All purpose flour/Maida | 1/4 cup |
Rice Flour | 1/4 cup |
Salt | As per taste |
Cumin seeds/Jeera | 1 tsp |
Asafoetida/Hing | 1 tsp |
Green chilly | 2 to 3 nos (Chopped) |
Corainder Leaves | 2 to 3 tsp (Chopped) |
Oil | 2 tblsp |
2) When you are ready to prepare dosa, add Chopped green chilly and corainader leaves to the mixture in the bowl.
3) Heat a Pan/dosa tawa, sprinkle few drops of water on the tawa, if the water splutters within a second then your tawa is ready for preparing dosa.
4) Sprinkle few drops of oil to the tawa and wipe the oil to all sides of the tawa using tissue or cloth.
5)Mix the rava mixture well, make sure it should be in liquid and not in batter consistency. Now take some mixture in kuli karandi and pour on the tawa by holding the karandi little high from the tawa.Start pouring the mixture from outside to inside in tawa.(Form outside circle of dosa first and pour some more mixture to form the inside part of dosa).Don't spread dosa with karandi.
6)You can see the holes in dosa. If you see large holes just pour a drop of rava mixture in that. Now pour few drops of oil on the dosa.
7)Let it cook untill you see the golden brown on the corners of all the holes in the dosa.It will take bit extra time than normal dosa.If you try to turn dosa before you see the brown color, dosa will be squeezed and it will stick to the spatula which you are using to turn the dosa.
8)It is not necessary to turn the dosa, you can use lid and close the tawa for few minutes so that the upper part of dosa will be cooked soon after that you can remove the lid and wait for the golden brown color to be appear in the lower part of dosa.
9) Once you see the brown color, carefully seperate dosa from tawa using spatula, fold it and serve hot with chutney.
Notes
1) Tawa should be very hot, then only the holes will be formed within a second of pouring the rava mixture.
2) When you sprinkle oil on the tawa it will not cover all the parts, so you need to use tissue or cloth to even it up.
3)Cooking will take little more time time than dosa, so prepare this using two tawa's, otherwise a person may finish eating the first dosa and wait for the second one.Else you can prepare two or three dosa's before serving.
