Cabbage rice is a dish which is very easy to prepare and tasty to eat.One of the best dish to pack for lunch box.Cabbage is a vegetable which we cannot complete the whole in a single day unless until it is prepared for big family or for a feast with large number of people. Mostly we prepare dishes like Poriyal or Sambhar with cabbage.But we have many other dishes, uses cabbage as a main ingredient ( Cabbage Rice, Cabbage Vadai , Cabbage Kofta etc).
Today I am posting recipe for Cabbage rice, you can prepare this if you have less time to prepare lunch, or if you are planning to complete the work in kitchen to do other works (to take rest ;) ) or to surprise your family members with different dish and at last to complete the big cabbage which is kept in fridge for quite some time. Also I am sure this dish definitely treats your taste bud.

1) In a tawa add few drops of oil and saute groundnuts until it becomes crispy. Keep the groundnut aside.
2) Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan, add cumin seeds once it splutters add Hing , then Urad Dhal and Channa Dhal. Add curry leaves once the dhal turns to golden brown color and then add turmeric powder to it.
3) Add chopped cabbage to a pan and mix well, then add coriander,chili powder and little salt.Saute it well for few minutes.Make sure cabbage should not cooked well, it should remain crunchy.
4) Add already cooked white rice to the pan, mix well and now add salt for rice and check for the taste.if everything is fine close the lid and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes in low flame.
5) Finally open the lid and add groundnuts and give and good mix.
6) Transfer it to serving bowl.
