Sweets/Desserts who says NO to this? It plays a vital role in Indian Cuisine. There are many sweet dishes available in Indian Cuisine. One among those is Halwa, this can be prepared with fruits, vegetables , Corn flour, Maida, Wheat flour and also with Bread. I already tried preparing this dish with some fruits and vegetables.
One of my neighbor / friend prepared and offered Bread Halwa few days ago, that is the first time I had Bread Halwa and I liked it very much. I thought of giving it a try, my friend prepared it with maida bread but only wheat bread was available in my kitchen so I tried with that, and it came out very well with different taste. Sri returned back from office and very much surprised to see a new recipe :)
Here comes the recipe for Bread Halwa,
Ingredients:
Method:
1) Fry cashew, almond and raisins in Ghee. Keep it aside.
2) Chop bread slices and toast that in tawa.
3) Heat oil and ghee in a pan, add toasted bread slices to it, fry them and keep it aside.
4) Grind some fried Cashew and Almond with milk. Keep it aside.
5) In a pan add milk, once it is boiled add fried bread slices. Wait till the bread absorbs milk completely.
6) Smash the bread nicely with spatula , add the cashew, almond and milk paste and mix well.
7) Add a cup of sugar, mix well and finely add fried dry fruits. You can also add ghee if needed.
8) Transfer it to a bowl and serve it hot.
